Frequently Asked Questions

What is the concept-based question model in Telangana SSC?

Concept-based questions require understanding and application rather than rote memorisation. For example, instead of asking "Define photosynthesis," the paper might ask "A plant is kept in a dark room for 48 hours. Predict what will happen and explain why."

Is the Telangana SSC syllabus the same as AP SSC?

Telangana and AP had the same syllabus until bifurcation but have since diverged in certain areas. SCERT Telangana has its own textbooks. Use TS textbooks for your exam, not AP ones.

How many students appear for Telangana SSC?

Approximately 10 lakh students appear each year, making it one of the largest state board exams in India.

Is the exam conducted in Telugu medium only?

No. Both Telugu and English medium papers are available. Urdu medium is also available for students in Urdu-medium schools.

How do I prepare for map work?

Practice with outline maps of India and Telangana. Map questions carry 4-8 marks and are the easiest to score with regular practice.

How important are diagrams in Science?

Very important. Biological Science especially awards marks for neat, labelled diagrams. Always draw diagrams even if not specifically asked — they add clarity and earn partial marks.
