Telangana Board Class 10 Science Marks Weightage 2027 - TSBSE SSC Chapter Wise

Telangana Board Class 10 Science 2027: Two papers (Paper I Physical Science 50m, Paper II Biological Science 50m). Complete chapter-wise marks breakdown.

In short: Telangana Board (TSBSE) Class 10 Science 2027 is divided into two papers: Paper I (Physical Science covering Physics and Chemistry, 50 marks) and Paper II (Biological Science covering Biology, 50 marks). Each paper has a separate exam day. The state textbook covers 22 chapters across both papers. Focus on Electricity, Chemical Reactions, Acids Bases Salts, Life Processes, and Heredity for the best results.

How Telangana Board Science Works

Telangana State Board of Secondary Education (TSBSE) structures Science into two separate papers at the SSC level:

  • Paper I: Physical Science (Physics + Chemistry) = 50 marks
  • Paper II: Biological Science (Biology) = 50 marks

Both papers are based on the Telangana state textbook, which covers topics aligned with NCERT but organized differently. The state textbook has approximately 11 chapters for Physical Science and 11 chapters for Biological Science.

Each paper is a standalone exam with its own score. This two-paper approach means you prepare for Physics and Chemistry together, and Biology separately.

Study Time Allocation

If you have 50 days before the SSC exams:

  • Paper I Physics chapters: 10 days
  • Paper I Chemistry chapters: 10 days
  • Paper II Biology chapters: 15 days
  • Revision + previous year papers: 10 days
  • Internal assessment prep: 5 days

Biology needs more time because Paper II has more chapters and requires extensive diagram practice. However, Paper I has more numericals, so balance your time between calculation practice and diagram drawing.

Common Mistakes That Cost Marks

  1. Studying from NCERT instead of the Telangana textbook. While concepts are similar, the state textbook has different chapter organization, examples, and activities. Exam questions are based on the state textbook.
  2. Not practicing numericals in Paper I. Electricity and Light chapters together carry 14-17 marks in Paper I, and about half of those are numericals. Do at least 20 problems per chapter.
  3. Ignoring diagram marks in Paper II. Section IV of Paper II is entirely diagram-based (5 marks). The heart, nephron, flower, and neuron diagrams are the most common. Always label every part clearly.
  4. Poor time management. Each paper is 50 marks in about 2 hours 45 minutes. Do not spend more than 5 minutes on any single question. If stuck, move on and come back later.
  5. Writing paragraph answers for short questions. For 2-mark questions, write 2-3 lines maximum. For 4-mark questions, write 4-5 points. Being concise helps you finish on time.

Scoring Strategy

Target for both papers:

Paper I (Physical Science, target 40/50):

  • Very Short: 8/10
  • Short Answer: 16/20
  • Long Answer: 12/15
  • Numerical/Diagram: 4/5

Paper II (Biological Science, target 40/50):

  • Very Short: 8/10
  • Short Answer: 16/20
  • Long Answer: 12/15
  • Diagram: 4/5

Combined target: 80/100 for Science.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many Science papers are there in Telangana Board Class 10?

There are two Science papers: Paper I (Physical Science covering Physics and Chemistry, 50 marks) and Paper II (Biological Science covering Biology, 50 marks). Both papers are held on separate days. The total Science score is 100 marks.

Is the Telangana Board Science syllabus the same as AP Board?

The syllabus is very similar since both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh boards were part of the same system until 2014. The state textbook content overlaps significantly. However, the exam pattern and question paper format may have minor differences. Always check the latest TSBSE circular for your specific board.

What is the passing mark for Telangana Board Science?

You need to score at least 35% in each paper separately. That means at least 18 out of 50 in Paper I and 18 out of 50 in Paper II. Both papers must be passed independently.

Which chapters carry the most marks in Physical Science?

Electricity (6-7 marks), Chemical Reactions (5-6 marks), Acids Bases and Salts (5-6 marks), and the combined Light chapters (8-10 marks) are the highest-scoring areas. Together they carry 25-29 marks out of 50 in Paper I.

How important are diagrams in the Biological Science paper?

Very important. Paper II has a dedicated diagram section worth 5 marks, and long-answer questions also require diagrams worth 3-5 marks each. Overall, diagrams can carry 10-15 marks in Paper II. Practice the heart, nephron, digestive system, flower, neuron, and reproductive organ diagrams repeatedly.
