Frequently Asked Questions

Is the AP SSC syllabus the same as CBSE?

AP follows its own textbooks based on the state curriculum. Topics overlap significantly with NCERT but chapter sequences and some content differ. Use AP Board textbooks as primary source.

Science is split into two papers. Is this easier?

Yes, conceptually. Each 50-mark paper has fewer questions, so you can focus deeply. Prepare Physical Science and Biological Science as separate subjects.

How do I manage the 15-minute reading time?

Read all questions. Circle the ones you will attempt first. For Maths, jot down the formulas you need. For Science, think about the diagrams required.

What is the passing criterion for each part?

You need a minimum of 18 marks in each part (Part A and Part B) where applicable. In subjects without parts, you need 35% overall.

How do I score well in Telugu or Hindi language papers?

Language papers carry 100 marks. Focus on grammar sections (transformations, letter writing, essay) — these are the most predictable and scorable sections.

Should AP students prepare from NCERT for competitive exams?

If planning for NEET or JEE later, use NCERT alongside AP textbooks. For SSC board exams, AP textbooks are sufficient.
