संक्षेप में: CBSE Class 12 में तुम्हारी copy अब examiner के हाथ में नहीं जाती — पहले scan होती है, फिर computer screen पर check होती है। इसका मतलब है तुम्हारी writing style change करनी होगी। ये 15 rules specifically OSM के लिए हैं — इन्हें follow करो और scanner की वजह से marks मत गँवाओ।

क्यों ज़रूरी है ये Guide
2026 में CBSE OSM के पहले large-scale implementation में students ने report किया:
- Steps clearly नहीं दिखे → step marks नहीं मिले
- Diagrams pencil से थे → scan में नहीं आए
- Light pen use किया → image washed out
- Margins में लिखा → scan में cut हो गया
ये marks तुम्हारे थे। Scanner की वजह से नहीं मिले।
2027 में system continue है। इन 15 rules को अभी से practice में लाओ — mock exams में, practice papers में।
15 Rules — एक-एक करके
Rule 1: Dark Blue या Black Pen — कोई Compromise नहीं
Scanner contrast capture करता है। Dark ink on white paper = high contrast = clear scan।
Light blue ink, faded ballpoint, या pencil = low contrast = washed out या invisible।
क्या करो:
- Dark blue या black ballpoint pen use करो
- Exam से एक रात पहले pen test करो — paper पर firmly लिखो, check करो ink dark और consistent है
- 2-3 extra pens साथ रखो
क्या नहीं करो:
- Light blue ink pen
- Gel pen जो smear करे
- Pencil (diagrams के लिए भी नहीं)
Rule 2: Normal से थोड़ा बड़ा लिखो
Examiner screen पर zoom in/out कर सकता है। लेकिन छोटी writing = extra effort = risk।
बड़ी, clear writing = examiner आसानी से पढ़ सकता है = marks मिलते हैं।
क्या करो:
- अपनी normal writing से 20-30% बड़ा लिखो
- Lines के बीच थोड़ा extra space रखो
- Letters clearly formed हों — hurried writing में letters merge हो जाते हैं
Rule 3: Margins से 1 cm अंदर रहो — हमेशा
Page के edges — especially left margin और bottom — scan में सबसे ज़्यादा cut off या blur होते हैं।
क्या करो:
- Printed margins के अंदर रहो
- Margins में कुछ मत लिखो — चाहे space कम हो
- Page के bottom से कम से कम 1 cm ऊपर रुको
- अगर space कम है, अगले page पर continue करो
Rule 4: हर Step नई Line पर — Maths/Physics/Chemistry में
Step marking का मतलब है हर step के लिए अलग marks। Examiner को हर step screen पर clearly दिखनी चाहिए।
2026 में सबसे common complaint: steps एक line में compress थे → examiner ने screen पर नहीं देखे → step marks नहीं मिले।
क्या करो:
गलत तरीका:
Let x = 5, then 2x = 10, therefore x² = 25
सही तरीका:
Let x = 5
∴ 2x = 2 × 5 = 10
∴ x² = 5² = 25
- हर step नई line पर
- Steps label करो जहाँ possible हो (Step 1, Step 2)
- Final answer underline करो या box में रखो
Rule 5: Diagrams Pen से बनाओ — Pencil बिल्कुल नहीं
Pencil lines scan में faint आती हैं या completely disappear हो जाती हैं।
Biology diagrams, Physics ray diagrams, Chemistry structures, Economics graphs — सब pen से।
क्या करो:
- Directly pen से diagram बनाओ
- Ruler use करो straight lines के लिए
- Labels pen से, clearly
- Mistake हो तो single line से काटो और redraw करो
क्या नहीं करो:
- Pencil से बनाकर pen से trace करना — double image बनता है scan में
- Pencil से बनाकर छोड़ देना — scan में नहीं आएगा
Rule 6: Mistakes को Single Clean Line से काटो
Heavy scribbling = dark blotch on scan जो nearby correct text को obscure कर सकता है।
क्या करो:
- एक clean horizontal line से काटो
- Examiner उसे ignore करेगा
- Correction fluid (whitener) allowed नहीं है
क्या नहीं करो:
- Multiple overlapping lines से scribble करना
- Correction fluid use करना
- Overwriting — original के ऊपर लिखना (scan में blurry आता है)
Rule 7: Question Number Clearly लिखो और Circle करो
Examiner specific questions check करता है — पूरी copy नहीं। उसे quickly find करना होता है।
क्या करो:
- Question number clearly लिखो margin में या designated space में
- Circle करो या underline करो
- Sub-parts (a), (b), (c) clearly label करो
- Sub-parts के बीच line gap रखो
क्या नहीं करो:
- Question number assume करना कि examiner context से समझ लेगा
- Sub-parts run together करना
Rule 8: "Continued on Next Page" लिखो
अगर answer एक page पर complete नहीं हुआ:
क्या करो:
- Current page के bottom पर: "Q[number] continued on page [X]"
- Next page के top पर: "Q[number] continued"
- ये link examiner को continuation find करने में help करता है
Rule 9: Blank Pages को Mark करो
2026 में blank pages skip होने की problem आई — system ने blank page देखा और skip कर दिया।
क्या करो:
- अगर page genuinely blank है (बीच में), diagonal line खींचो और "Blank" लिखो
- अगर तुमने page skip किया और आगे लिखा, clearly indicate करो
Rule 10: Graphs और Tables में Labels ज़रूरी हैं
Economics, Biology, Physics में graphs frequently आते हैं। OSM में unlabelled graph = incomplete answer।
क्या करो:
- दोनों axes label करो — variable name और unit
- हर curve या line label करो
- Key points mark करो (equilibrium, intercepts)
- Ruler use करो straight lines के लिए
- सब pen से
Rule 11: Long Answers में Structure रखो
5-6 mark answers में examiner marking scheme से match करता है। Structured answer = easy matching।
क्या करो:
- Numbered points या bullets use करो
- हर point = एक mark (roughly)
- Headings use करो जहाँ appropriate हो
- Paragraphs के बीच line gap रखो
Rule 12: Cover Page Exam शुरू होने से पहले भरो
Cover page scan होकर तुम्हारी identity establish करती है। Misidentification real risk है।
क्या करो:
- Roll number block letters में
- Admit card से double-check करो
- Exam शुरू होने से पहले भरो — exam time में नहीं
- सभी required fields fill करो
Rule 13: Ink Bleed-Through Check करो
कुछ pens thin paper पर ink bleed करते हैं — back side पर ghost image बनती है जो scan में दिखती है।
क्या करो:
- Exam से पहले pen test करो — firmly लिखो और back side check करो
- Consistent, non-bleeding ink वाला pen use करो
- Firmly लिखो लेकिन इतना नहीं कि ink bleed करे
Rule 14: Textbook की Language Use करो
CBSE examiners marking scheme से match करते हैं। Marking scheme में specific keywords होते हैं।
क्या करो:
- Textbook की exact language use करो
- Paraphrase करने से avoid करो जहाँ specific terms हों
- "Rate of reaction increases with temperature" — exactly यही लिखो, अपने words में नहीं
Rule 15: Scanner के लिए लिखो, Reader के लिए नहीं
यही सबसे important shift है OSM में।
पहले: तुम एक human के लिए लिखते थे जो physically copy पकड़ता था।
अब: तुम एक scanner के लिए लिखते हो जो image लेगा, और फिर एक human के लिए जो screen पर देखेगा।
इसका मतलब:
- Dark pen — scanner के लिए
- बड़े अक्षर — screen reader के लिए
- Margins के अंदर — scanner के लिए
- Pen diagrams — scanner के लिए
- Structured answers — screen reader के लिए

- हर practice paper इन rules के साथ लिखो
- Mock exams में deliberately बड़ा लिखो
- Diagrams हमेशा pen से बनाओ
- Steps हमेशा नई line पर
Habit बनाओ — exam hall में automatically होगा।
Frequently Asked Questions
OSM में कितने marks step marking से आते हैं?
Maths में typically 60-70% marks step marking से आते हैं। Physics numericals में भी similar। इसीलिए steps clearly लिखना इतना important है।
अगर pen खराब हो जाए exam में?
Invigilator से तुरंत नया pen माँगो। Extra pens साथ रखो — 2-3 dark blue/black ballpoint।
Diagram में mistake हो गई — क्या करूं?
Single line से काटो और redraw करो। Erasing avoid करो — erasing marks paper पर रहते हैं जो scan में smudge की तरह दिखते हैं।
क्या examiner zoom in करके देख सकता है?
हाँ। लेकिन examiner को zoom in करना पड़े — इसका मतलब extra effort। बड़ी, clear writing में zoom in की ज़रूरत नहीं पड़ती।
OSM में time management कैसे करें?
OSM के rules follow करने में extra time नहीं लगता — बस writing style थोड़ी different है। Practice से automatic हो जाता है। Mock exams में practice करो।
Re-evaluation कैसे apply करें?
Results के बाद: (1) Scanned copy apply करो (₹500/subject approximately), (2) देखो examiner ने क्या देखा, (3) अगर error लगे — verification या re-evaluation apply करो (₹100/question approximately)। Deadlines cbse.gov.in पर announce होती हैं।
