OSM क्या है — Simple भाषा में
पहले क्या होता था: तुम्हारी answer sheet exam centre से bundle में examiner के घर या school जाती थी। Examiner physically copy पकड़कर check करता था।
अब क्या होता है:
- तुम exam hall में copy लिखते हो
- Exam खत्म होने के बाद copy scan होती है exam centre पर
- Scanned image central server पर upload होती है
- Examiner अपने computer screen पर image देखकर marks देता है
- Marks automatically total होते हैं
यही है On-Screen Marking।

2026 में CBSE ने OSM को almost सभी Class 12 subjects में implement किया। Result? बड़ा controversy।
Problems जो Students ने Report कीं

CBSE का Response
CBSE ने कहा: "Only the medium has changed, not the marking." यानी marking process same है, बस medium digital हो गया।
2027 के लिए CBSE ने announce किया:
- Upgraded scanners सभी centres पर
- हर page को "checked" mark करना mandatory
- Examiners को additional training — especially step marking के लिए
- Faster re-evaluation processing
OSM में Copy कैसे Check होती है — Step by Step
Step 1: Scanning
Exam खत्म होने के बाद तुम्हारी copy exam centre पर scan होती है। Scanner हर page की high-resolution image लेता है।
यहाँ पहली problem आ सकती है: अगर तुमने light pen use किया, margins में लिखा, या pencil से diagram बनाया — scan में clearly नहीं आएगा।
Step 2: Upload
Scanned images central CBSE server पर upload होती हैं। हर page को तुम्हारे roll number से link किया जाता है।
Step 3: Distribution
CBSE system automatically pages distribute करता है examiners को। Important: एक examiner पूरी copy नहीं देखता — वो specific questions देखता है। जैसे एक examiner सिर्फ Q.1 और Q.5 check करेगा, दूसरा Q.2 और Q.6।
Step 4: Marking
Examiner अपने computer screen पर तुम्हारी copy का image देखता है। साथ में official marking scheme भी screen पर होती है। वो marks देता है।
यहाँ दूसरी problem आ सकती है: अगर तुम्हारी writing छोटी है, steps एक line में हैं, या question number clearly नहीं लिखा — examiner को समझने में problem होगी।
Step 5: Totalling
सभी examiners के marks automatically total होते हैं। Manual totalling नहीं होती — इसलिए totalling errors कम हैं।

OSM में तुम्हें क्या बदलना है — 10 Rules
Rule 1: Dark Blue या Black Pen ही Use करो
Scanner contrast capture करता है। Dark ink = clear scan। Light blue ink, faded pen = washed out image।
क्या करो: Exam से पहले pen test करो — paper पर firmly लिखो और check करो ink dark और consistent है।
Rule 2: बड़े अक्षर लिखो
Examiner screen पर zoom in/out कर सकता है। लेकिन छोटी writing = extra effort। बड़ी, clear writing = easy evaluation।
क्या करो: Normal से थोड़ा बड़ा लिखो। Lines के बीच space रखो।
Rule 3: Margins के अंदर रहो
Page के edges — especially left margin और bottom — scan में cut off या blur हो सकते हैं।
क्या करो: सभी edges से कम से कम 1 cm अंदर रहो। Margins में कुछ मत लिखो।
Rule 4: हर Step नई Line पर
Maths, Physics, Chemistry में step marking होती है। Screen पर examiner को हर step clearly दिखनी चाहिए।
क्या करो: हर step नई line पर। Multiple steps एक line में मत लिखो। Steps label करो जहाँ possible हो।
Rule 5: Diagrams Pen से बनाओ — Pencil से नहीं
Pencil lines scan में faint आती हैं या disappear हो जाती हैं।
क्या करो: सभी diagrams pen से बनाओ। Ruler use करो straight lines के लिए। Labels pen से लिखो।
Rule 6: Mistakes को Single Line से काटो
Heavy scribbling = dark blotch on scan जो nearby text को obscure कर सकता है।
क्या करो: एक clean horizontal line से काटो। Correction fluid allowed नहीं है।
Rule 7: Question Number Clearly लिखो
Examiner specific questions check करता है — उसे quickly find करना होता है।
क्या करो: Question number clearly लिखो margin में या designated space में। Circle या underline करो।
Rule 8: Blank Pages Handle करो Carefully
2026 में blank pages skip होने की problem आई।
क्या करो: अगर page blank है (बीच में), diagonal line खींचो और "Blank" लिखो। अगर answer continue है, "Continued on next page" लिखो।
Rule 9: Cover Page Carefully भरो
Cover page scan होकर तुम्हारी identity establish करती है।
क्या करो: Roll number block letters में। Admit card से double-check करो। Exam शुरू होने से पहले भरो।
Rule 10: Long Answers में Structure रखो
5-6 mark answers में numbered points या bullets use करो।
क्या करो: हर point = एक mark। Structured answer = easy to match against marking scheme।

Re-evaluation Process — अगर Marks गलत लगें
अगर तुम्हें लगे marks सही नहीं आए:
Step 1: Scanned Copy Apply करो
Results के बाद scanned copy apply कर सकते हो (fee: approximately ₹500 per subject)। तुम exactly वो देखोगे जो examiner ने देखा।
Step 2: Verification Apply करो
अगर totalling error लगे।
Step 3: Re-evaluation Apply करो
अगर specific answers में marks गलत लगें (fee: approximately ₹100 per question)।
Deadline: हर step की deadline results के बाद announce होती है। cbse.gov.in check करो।
Frequently Asked Questions
OSM Class 10 में भी होती है?
2026-27 तक OSM primarily Class 12 में है। Class 10 manual checking continue है। Updates के लिए cbse.gov.in check करो।
Gel pen use कर सकते हैं?
CBSE pen type specify नहीं करता। लेकिन gel pens जो smear करते हैं या inconsistent ink देते हैं — OSM में risk है। Good quality ballpoint pen safest choice है।
अगर scan blurry आई तो?
Results के बाद scanned copy apply करो। अगर genuinely blurry है और marks lost हुए, re-evaluation apply करो।
Pencil से diagram बनाकर pen से trace करूं?
नहीं। Pencil lines under pen lines = double image on scan। Directly pen से बनाओ। Mistake हो तो single line से काटो और redraw करो।
OSM में marks कम आते हैं manual से?
CBSE का कहना है marking process same है। 2026 में pass rate drop (85.20%) के कई factors थे — OSM implementation issues उनमें से एक था। 2027 में improvements के साथ system continue है।
Re-evaluation में marks बढ़ते हैं?
हाँ, बढ़ सकते हैं। 2026 में re-evaluation requests unprecedented थीं। अगर genuinely लगे marks गलत हैं, process follow करो।
