UP Board Class 10 Last 20 Days Plan — Subject Wise Before Feb 5, 2027

UP Board Class 10 2027 exams start February 5. A day-by-day 20-day revision plan for Hindi, English, Maths, Science and Social Science, built around the 70-mark paper (50 descriptive + 20 objective).

In short: UP Board (UPMSP) Class 10 exams run from February 5 to February 24, 2027, and Hindi is the first paper. Around 27.7 lakh students are registered for High School this year. Each main subject has a 70-mark written paper (50 marks descriptive + 20 marks objective) and 30 marks of internal assessment. Your last 20 days (January 16 to February 4) should go to high-weightage chapters, objective-question practice, and at least two full timed papers per subject, not new chapters.

Twenty days is not a lot of time, but it is enough to move your score by 10-15 marks per subject if you spend it well. The students who lose marks in the final stretch usually make one of three mistakes: they start new chapters, they skip the objective section, or they never sit a full 3 hour 15 minute paper before the real one.

This plan avoids all three.

The Rule for the Last 20 Days: No New Chapters

If a chapter is completely new to you on January 16, skip it unless it carries big marks and is quick to learn. Every hour on a brand-new chapter is an hour taken from chapters where you already know 60% and can get to 90%.

Sort every chapter into three groups:

GroupWhat it meansWhat to do
StrongYou can answer most textbook questions without helpOne quick revision + objective practice
PartialYou understand it but make mistakesMain focus of the 20 days
WeakYou have barely studied itOnly if it is high-weightage. Otherwise skip.

Most of your time goes to the "Partial" group. That is where the marks are.

The 20-Day Plan (January 16 – February 4)

The plan has three phases. Adjust the subject order once you see your own date sheet.

Subject-Wise Priorities

Hindi (first paper, February 5)

Hindi is the highest-scoring subject for most UP Board students, and also the paper where careless students drop 10+ marks.

  • Kavi and lekhak parichay: Learn 4-5 poets and 4-5 writers properly, with rachnayein and bhasha-shaili. These appear every year.
  • Sandarbh, prasang, vyakhya: Practise the format, not just the meaning. Examiners look for all three parts.
  • Vyakaran: Sandhi, samas, alankar, ras and chhand are quick marks if you have practised examples.
  • Nibandh: Prepare outlines for 5-6 common topics (paryavaran, digital India, vigyan, nari shiksha, berozgari).

See our UP Board Hindi 100 marks guide for detailed scoring tips.

Mathematics

Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry carry most of the written paper. Check the UP Board Class 10 Maths marks weightage for exact numbers.

  • Practise 15-20 problems daily, not just reading solutions
  • Write every step. UP Board examiners give step marks.
  • Keep a one-page formula sheet and read it every night
  • For the objective section, speed matters. Practise MCQs with a timer.

Science

Science is one paper covering Physics, Chemistry and Biology. See the UP Board Class 10 Science weightage.

  • Physics: Light and Electricity numericals. Learn the sign convention properly.
  • Chemistry: Balance every equation in the NCERT chapters. Know the reactions of acids, bases and metals.
  • Biology: Draw the human heart, nephron, digestive system, flower and stomata at least 3 times each. Labelled diagrams carry easy marks.

Social Science

  • History: Make a single-page timeline of dates for Nationalism in India
  • Geography: Map work is predictable. Practise marking the standard locations from the textbook.
  • Civics and Economics: Definitions and "features of" questions are common. Write in points.

English

  • Grammar is the most predictable section: tenses, voice, narration, articles
  • Practise one formal letter and one application every two days
  • Read the prose and poetry summaries once more and note the authors

Do Not Ignore the 20-Mark Objective Section

The 20 objective marks are the easiest marks on the paper, and many students rush through them. A student who scores 18/20 on objectives only needs 6/50 in descriptive questions to reach the 33% pass mark in theory, and every extra objective mark directly lifts the final percentage.

  • Practise 30-50 MCQs per subject during Phase 2
  • Read every option before choosing. Many wrong answers are "almost right" options.
  • Fill the OMR carefully. Mistakes in bubbling cost marks you actually earned.

  • Blue/black pens (at least 3), pencil, eraser, scale, sharpener
  • Geometry box for Maths
  • Transparent water bottle

Our exam day morning checklist covers the full routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I still pass UP Board Class 10 if I start studying 20 days before?

Yes. The pass mark is 33%, and the 20-mark objective section plus internal assessment make passing realistic with 20 focused days. Focus on high-weightage chapters, objective questions and one or two full papers per subject. Do not try to cover the whole syllabus.

How many hours should I study daily in the last 20 days?

Six to eight focused hours is enough. More than that usually means less sleep and lower retention. Use 3-hour morning blocks that match the exam timing.

Which subject should I give the most time?

The subject where you are closest to a big jump. For most students, that is Maths or Science. Hindi needs regular daily practice too, because it is the first paper and sets your confidence for the rest of the exam.

Is the UP Board 2027 paper pattern different from 2026?

The Class 10 written paper continues with 70 marks (50 descriptive and 20 objective) plus 30 internal marks. UP Board has announced a more application-focused pattern for Classes 11 and 12, so expect some questions to test understanding, not just recall.

Should I study from NCERT or a guide book?

NCERT textbooks first. UP Board follows NCERT for Maths, Science and Social Science. Use model papers and previous year papers for practice, not as a replacement for the textbook.

What should I do the night before the Hindi paper?

Light revision only: kavi-lekhak parichay, vyakaran rules and your nibandh outlines. Stop by 8:30 PM and sleep by 10 PM.
