100-Day Study Plan for Board Exams 2027 — Class 10 and 12 Day-by-Day Strategy

100-day board exam preparation plan for CBSE, UP Board, Bihar Board Class 10 and 12. Week-by-week schedule with daily targets for every subject.

In short: With board exams expected in February-March 2027, you have roughly 100 days from mid-October. This plan divides those 100 days into 4 phases: Foundation (Days 1-30), Deep Practice (Days 31-60), Revision (Days 61-85), and Mock Exams (Days 86-100). It works for CBSE, UP Board, Bihar Board, and most state boards for both Class 10 and Class 12.

Why 100 Days Is Enough

100 days is 14 weeks and 2 days. If you study 5-6 hours per day (outside school hours), that is 500-600 hours of total study time. To put that in perspective:

  • The CBSE Class 10 syllabus across 5 subjects has approximately 60-65 chapters.
  • That gives you roughly 8-10 hours per chapter on average.
  • 8 hours per chapter is enough for: reading NCERT (2 hrs) + notes (1 hr) + practice problems (3 hrs) + revision (2 hrs).

The key is using those hours strategically, not equally across all chapters.

Phase 1: Foundation (Days 1-30)

Goal: Complete all remaining syllabus. No chapter should be untouched after Day 30.

Weekly Breakdown

Week 1-2 (Days 1-14): High-Weightage Chapters First

Start with the chapters that carry the most marks. For Class 10:

  • Maths: Quadratic Equations, Trigonometry, Statistics
  • Science: Chemical Reactions, Life Processes, Electricity, Light
  • SST: Nationalism in India, Resources and Development, Federalism, Sectors of Economy

For Class 12 Science:

  • Physics: Electrostatics, Optics, Current Electricity
  • Chemistry: Organic Chemistry block, Electrochemistry, Solutions
  • Maths: Integration, 3D Geometry, Probability

Use the chapter-wise marks weightage guides to prioritize:

Week 3-4 (Days 15-30): Remaining Chapters

Complete the medium and low-weightage chapters. Do not skip any chapter completely — even low-weightage ones contribute MCQs.

Daily Schedule (Phase 1)

TimeActivity
6:00-7:30 AMSubject 1 (new chapter study)
After schoolSubject 2 (new chapter study, 2 hrs)
5:00-6:30 PMSubject 3 (new chapter study)
8:00-9:00 PMQuick revision of today's chapters (notes, formulas)
9:00-9:30 PMNext day planning

Total: ~6 hours/day

Phase 2: Deep Practice (Days 31-60)

Goal: Solve problems for every chapter. Build speed and accuracy.

What Changes

No more reading new content. This phase is pure practice:

  • Maths: Solve NCERT exercises + 10 extra problems per chapter from sample papers.
  • Science: Practice numericals (Physics), balance equations (Chemistry), draw diagrams (Biology).
  • SST: Write answers in point form. Practice map work 3 times a week.
  • English: Practice writing formats (letter, notice, article). Solve extract-based questions.

Weekly Target

WeekFocus
Week 5-6Maths + Science problem solving
Week 7-8SST answer writing + English writing practice + revisit weak chapters

Daily Schedule (Phase 2)

TimeActivity
6:00-7:30 AMProblem solving (Maths or Physics numericals)
After schoolPractice writing (SST answers or English formats, 2 hrs)
5:00-6:30 PMScience practice (diagrams, equations, numericals)

Phase 3: Revision (Days 61-85)

Goal: Revise everything. No new learning. Fix weak areas.

Three-Week Revision Cycle

Week 9-10 (Days 61-74): Subject-by-Subject Revision

  • Day 61-63: Revise entire Maths using formula sheets
  • Day 64-66: Revise Science (focus on diagrams and equations)
  • Day 67-69: Revise SST (focus on dates, maps, key terms)
  • Day 70-72: Revise English and Hindi
  • Day 73-74: Revise weakest chapters across all subjects

Week 11 (Days 75-85): Solve Full Papers

  • Solve 1 full sample paper per subject per day
  • After each paper, check the marking scheme and note mistakes
  • Maintain an "error log" — list of mistakes you repeat

Daily Schedule (Phase 3)

TimeActivity
6:00-9:00 AMSolve one full sample paper (timed, 3 hours)
After schoolCheck answers against marking scheme. Note errors. (1.5 hrs)
5:00-6:30 PMRevise the chapters where you lost marks
8:00-9:00 PMFormulas + diagrams + dates quick revision

Phase 4: Mock Exams (Days 86-100)

Goal: Simulate real exam conditions. Build confidence and timing.

The Final 15 Days

  • Days 86-92: One full mock exam per day. Alternate subjects. Strict 3-hour timing. No checking answers during the exam.
  • Days 93-97: Focus on your 3 weakest subjects. Solve 2 more papers each.
  • Days 98-99: Light revision only. Read formula sheets, diagram cards, and date charts.
  • Day 100: Rest. No studying. Sleep well.

Mock Exam Rules

  1. Sit at a desk, not your bed.
  2. Use only a pen, pencil, ruler, and calculator (if allowed).
  3. Set a timer for exactly 3 hours.
  4. Do not check your phone.
  5. After the exam, wait at least 1 hour before checking answers.

Adapting This Plan for Different Boards

UP Board

UP Board exams start February 5, 2027. The syllabus follows NCERT but the paper is 70 marks theory + 30 internal. Adjust Phase 1 to prioritize Hindi (which carries 100 marks in UP Board).

Bihar Board

Bihar Board uses the 50+50 MCQ pattern. In Phase 2, dedicate extra time to MCQ practice (at least 500 MCQs per subject). See the Bihar Board Class 10 guide.

State Boards Following NCERT

Most state boards (MP, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, Odisha) follow NCERT content. This plan works directly. Adjust the paper structure and marks distribution based on your specific board.

Common Mistakes in 100-Day Plans

  1. Spending too long on Phase 1. If you are still reading new chapters after Day 35, you are behind. Speed up or deprioritize low-weightage chapters.
  2. Skipping mock exams. Phase 4 is not optional. Timed practice under exam conditions is the single most effective preparation technique.
  3. Not sleeping enough. 6-7 hours of sleep is non-negotiable. Sleep consolidates memory. Studying until 2 AM and waking up groggy is counterproductive.
  4. Ignoring weak subjects. Students tend to study what they enjoy. Identify your weakest subject and give it 30% extra time.
  5. Not using the marking scheme. After each mock, check answers against the CBSE marking scheme. This teaches you how examiners think.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 100 days enough to prepare for board exams from scratch?

Yes, if you follow a structured plan. 100 days at 5-6 hours per day gives you 500-600 hours. That is sufficient for the CBSE or state board Class 10/12 syllabus if you prioritize high-weightage chapters.

Should I study all subjects every day?

No. In Phase 1, focus on 2-3 subjects per day and rotate. In Phase 2, you can touch all subjects daily since you are doing practice, not reading. In Phase 3, one subject per day for deep revision.

What if I am already behind on syllabus?

Skip Phase 1 for the chapters you have already completed. Spend more days in Phase 2 (practice). If you are more than 30% behind on syllabus, extend Phase 1 to 40 days and compress Phase 3 to 15 days.

Can I use this plan for competitive exams too?

This plan is designed for board exams specifically. If you are preparing for JEE or NEET alongside boards, add 1-2 hours of competitive exam practice daily. But board preparation should be your priority during Phase 3 and 4.
