Class 5 Hindi - MP
Chand Ka Kurta
Chand Ka Kurta is a delightful and imaginative poem written by the famous Hindi poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar for Class 5 MP Board students. In this chapter, the little moon feels cold and asks his mother for a warm kurta (shirt) to protect himself from the chilly winter night. The poem beautifully describes the waxing and waning phases of the moon through the clever excuse of the moon's magical kurta never fitting him properly due to his changing size. This chapter helps students understand poetic imagination, improves Hindi vocabulary, and is important for board exams for comprehension and poem-recitation questions.
