Maharashtra HSC Last 30 Days — Commerce, Science, Arts Subject Wise 2027

Maharashtra HSC 2027 theory exams start February 8, with practicals from January 20 to February 6. A 30-day subject-wise plan for Science, Commerce and Arts that works around the practical overlap.

In short: Maharashtra HSC (Class 12) theory exams run from February 8 to March 16, 2027. Practical, oral and internal assessments run from January 20 to February 6, which overlaps with most of your final month. That leaves only about 10 clear study days (January 9-19) before practicals begin. Front-load your hardest subjects into those days, keep daily theory revision going through practical weeks, and sit at least one full paper per subject before February 8.

The Maharashtra HSC timetable creates a specific problem. Your "last 30 days" are really three different blocks: a short clear window, a practical-heavy window, and the exam window itself, where gaps between papers become your revision time. This plan treats them separately.

Block B: Practical Window (Jan 20 – Feb 6)

Day typePlan
Practical dayPractical in the morning/afternoon, then 2-3 hours theory revision in the evening
Free dayOne full timed paper + review
Day before a practical1 hour revising experiments and viva questions, rest is theory

Target: at least one full paper in Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology and English during this window. See HSC Science important questions.

Science tips:

  • Physics: Derivations and numericals from rotational dynamics, electrostatics, current electricity and optics appear regularly
  • Chemistry: Organic conversions and name reactions; numericals from solutions, electrochemistry and kinetics
  • Maths: Integration, differentiation and its applications, vectors and 3D, probability
  • Biology: Diagrams from reproduction, genetics and human physiology

Commerce Stream

Commerce subjects carry 80 marks theory + 20 internal. See the HSC Commerce scoring strategy.

Block A: Jan 9-19

DayBook-Keeping and AccountancyEconomics / OCM / SPLanguage
1-2Partnership final accountsEconomics: Introduction to micro and macro, utilityEnglish grammar
3-4Reconstitution: admission, retirement, deathEconomics: Demand, elasticity, supplyEnglish writing

9-10Analysis of financial statementsSP: Company, correspondence, dividends, interestMarathi/Hindi
11Full paper: BK and AccountancyReviewReview

Block B: Practical / Internal Window

Commerce has fewer practicals, so use most of this window for full papers: BK and Accountancy, Economics, OCM, SP, English, and your second language, each at least once.

Commerce tips:

  • BK and Accountancy: Full formats with working notes. Never skip the format.
  • Economics: Draw diagrams (demand curve, elasticity, indifference curves where applicable) and write in points.
  • OCM: Learn exact definitions and give one real-life example in each long answer.
  • SP: Correspondence formats (letters to shareholders, debenture holders, etc.) are predictable and quick marks.

See the HSC Commerce complete guide.

Arts Stream

Block B

Arts has few practicals (Geography and Psychology may have them). Use free days for full papers in every subject.

Arts tips:

  • Use a structure in long answers: introduction, 5-6 headed points, conclusion
  • One-page timelines for History; practise map questions
  • For Political Science, learn key terms and give current examples

See the HSC Arts guide.

Block C: Using Gap Days During the Exam

The HSC theory window runs for more than five weeks, so most students get several gap days. Use them deliberately:

Gap before next paperPlan
1 dayFormula sheet, mistake list, diagrams. Sleep on time.
2-3 daysDay 1: weak units. Day 2: full timed paper. Day 3: light revision.
4+ daysFull revision of all units + 2 papers + rest the evening before

Avoid discussing finished papers with friends; it costs time and confidence.

Daily Routine (Clear and Gap Days)

TimeActivity
6:30 AMWake up, light exercise
7:30 – 10:30 AMHardest subject / full paper
11:00 AM – 1:30 PMSecond subject
1:30 – 3:00 PMLunch + rest
3:00 – 6:00 PMReview, numericals or formats
6:00 – 7:00 PMWalk / exercise
7:00 – 9:00 PMLight revision
9:30 PMPlan next day, sleep by 10:30 PM

HSC papers are usually in the morning shift (check your hall ticket), so the morning block matters most.

Frequently Asked Questions

When do Maharashtra HSC 2027 exams start?

Theory exams start on February 8, 2027 and end on March 16, 2027. Practicals and internal assessments run from January 20 to February 6.

How do I study for theory during practical weeks?

Keep 2-3 hours of theory revision every day, even on practical days. Use non-practical days for full timed papers. Revise each practical only 1-2 days before it.

What is the passing mark in Maharashtra HSC?

35% per subject, combining theory and internal/practical marks.

Should I study from Balbharati textbooks or reference books?

Balbharati textbooks first. HSC questions are based on the textbook. Use model papers and previous year papers for practice.

How do I balance MHT-CET and HSC in the last month?

HSC Science content overlaps heavily with MHT-CET. Revise for HSC first; after the theory exams end, switch to CET-style MCQ practice. See our Maharashtra JEE/NEET/CET guide.

What if I fail one subject?

MSBSHSE conducts supplementary exams after the results. You can clear the subject and continue to college. See Maharashtra Board compartment and revaluation.
