Frequently Asked Questions

Is the GSEB SSC syllabus the same as CBSE?

GSEB follows NCERT content but uses its own textbooks. The topics are largely the same as CBSE Class 10 with minor differences in presentation. You can use CBSE resources for additional practice.

How are internal assessment marks calculated?

Internal assessment (20 marks) includes periodic tests, practicals, projects, and attendance. Most students score 15 to 18 out of 20. Focus your preparation effort on the 80-mark theory paper.

Which sections should I attempt first?

Start with Section A (MCQs) to build confidence — these are quick wins. Then attempt Section D (5-mark) while your mind is fresh. Finish with Sections B and C.

How many previous year papers should I solve?

At least 5. GSEB repeats question patterns frequently. After solving 5 papers, you will recognise the repeating themes clearly.

Is Gujarati medium easier to score in?

The content is identical. Score depends on understanding, not medium. Write in whichever medium you are more comfortable expressing ideas in.

What if I fear failing the board exam?

The passing mark is only 33%. Focus on Section D (5-mark) questions from the top 5 chapters per subject. Even mastering 4-5 chapters well can clear the exam comfortably.
