AP Inter Previous Year Question Analysis — Physics Chemistry Maths Repeat Frequency 2027

AP Inter (BIEAP) PYQ repeat-frequency analysis for Physics, Chemistry and Maths across 1st and 2nd year. Which concepts repeat, how to use old state-syllabus papers after the NCERT switch, and a PYQ practice plan for 2027.

In short: BIEAP Intermediate papers have repeated the same core concepts year after year: Gauss's law, YDSE, photoelectric effect, mole concept, name reactions, conic sections, integration. But AP Inter recently moved to NCERT-based textbooks. It merged 1st-year Maths into one 100-mark paper, made Physics and Chemistry 85-mark papers, and added 1-mark objective questions. So old previous-year papers are still useful for concepts, but not for the exact format. This guide gives a repeat-frequency view of Physics, Chemistry and Maths across both years. It sorts PYQ topics into "still valid", "changed" and "new under NCERT", and gives a practice plan that combines old PYQs with the new BIEAP model papers. For a detailed 2nd-year MPC question-by-question frequency list, see our AP Inter 2nd year MPC repeat strategy.

How to Use Old PYQs After the NCERT Switch

CategoryWhat It MeansAction
✅ Still validTopic exists in both the old state syllabus and NCERT, and is asked the same wayUse old PYQs fully
🔄 Changed formatTopic exists, but marks/format changed (e.g. 1-mark objective questions added, Maths papers merged)Use old PYQs for the concept; use new model papers for format
🆕 New under NCERTTopic is in the NCERT book but was not in the old state syllabusNo old PYQs exist, so use NCERT exercises + BIEAP model papers
❌ DroppedTopic was in the old state book but not in NCERTSkip old PYQs on it, after confirming with the 2026-27 syllabus

Rule: Always check the official 2026-27 syllabus PDF from bie.ap.gov.in before deciding a topic is dropped or new.

Frequency Legend

  • 🔴 Very high: concept appeared in almost every recent paper
  • 🟠 High: appeared in most recent papers
  • 🟡 Moderate: appeared in some recent papers

Frequencies are based on recurring patterns in recent BIEAP papers. Exact counts vary by year, and question wording always changes.

Matrices and determinants; vectors; 3D; LPP🟠🆕 for 2nd year under NCERT

Maths takeaway: Maths changed the most. The old 1A/1B/2A/2B split does not map neatly onto NCERT Class 11/12. Calculus (integration, differential equations, applications of derivatives) remains the most reliable repeat block. For topics that moved between years, rely on NCERT exercises and the new BIEAP model papers instead of old PYQs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are old AP Inter previous year papers still useful in 2027?

Yes, for concepts that are in both the old and new syllabus, like most Physics derivations, physical chemistry numericals, organic name reactions and calculus. They are less useful for format, because BIEAP merged 1st-year Maths into one paper, changed science papers to 85 marks and added 1-mark objective questions. Use the new BIEAP model papers to practise the format.

Which topics may no longer be in the AP Inter syllabus?

Under the rationalised NCERT syllabus, topics like mathematical induction, De Moivre's theorem, solid state, surface chemistry, metallurgy, polymers and communication systems have been removed or reduced. Confirm each one with the official 2026-27 BIEAP syllabus before skipping it.

How many previous year papers should I solve?

For each subject, solve 3-5 old papers chapter-wise (only on topics still in the syllabus). Add all available official BIEAP model papers and the 2026 papers under the new pattern, solved under timed conditions.

Where can I get AP Inter previous year papers and model papers?

BIEAP publishes model papers on bie.ap.gov.in. Previous year papers are available from your junior college and from education sites like JagranJosh and PW. Make sure each paper's year and pattern are clearly labelled.

Do PYQs help for EAPCET too?

Inter PYQs build concept depth, which helps EAPCET. EAPCET itself is an MCQ exam, so also solve EAPCET previous papers. See our EAPCET with Inter preparation guide.

Is there a detailed question-by-question frequency list for 2nd year MPC?

Yes. Our AP Inter 2nd Year MPC repeat strategy lists 2nd-year Physics, Chemistry and Maths question types with 5/5, 4/5 and 3/5 frequency ratings.
